There are a number of commonly used betting strategies
that are used at the casino to try and beat the
casino. Other players will insist they have thought
up a fantastic new system that is guaranteed to
make you a winner. Unfortunately any system you
use or devise yourself will still not be able
to beat the casinos statistical advantage over
a long period of play. The only way you can do
this is by using slightly more underhand methods
which are described in the beating roulette section
of the website.
Here are a few different systems you may like
to try. All the systems use the even money outside
bets so it doesn’t matter if you place red/black,
odd/even or high/low bets they all have the same
payout.
Martingale System
The most famous system of them all and some would
argue the worst. It would be a great system but
only if you had millions of pounds to bet with
and the casinos did not insist on having maximum
table limits. The premise behind the system is
that you bet on the same outcome every time and
you win your minimum bet every time your losing
streak comes to an end. To do this you start off
betting your minimum bet on one of the even money
outside bets. Lets say you choose red and your
minimum bet is £5. If you win the bet you
place another bet at £5 on red. If you lose
you double your bet sticking to red every time.
So if you lose, you bet £10. If you lose
again you double your bet again to £20.
If you win this bet you start again betting £5.
All the time sticking to red. As you can see every
time your losing streak ends i.e the ball lands
on a red number you win £5. For example
in the previous streak you lost £5 then
you lost £10 then you won £20 so overall
you end up winning £5. You just keep doing
this again and again each time a losing streak
comes to an end you win £5.
The problem with this system is that it is quite
likely you will end up after a while losing a
several times in a row. If you were betting at
a wheel with a maximum bet of £1000 by the
time you reach your ninth losing bet you will
be above the table maximum and on the previous
eight spins you will have lost £1275 trying
to win your £5. You may think black would
never come up 9 times in a row but unfortunately
it happens much more often than you think.
You can modify this method a bit and it gives
you a bit more chance of being successful but
it would take several hours to win perhaps £100
and you will still be risking a lot of money for
a small gain. With this variation all you do is
wait for the outcome of the three outside bets
to have the same result three times before starting
you betting. For example if the black has come
up three times in a row you start betting on red
on the fourth spin with your minimum bet and as
before keep doubling your bet every time you lose
sticking to red each time. The premise behind
this is that you have extended the losing streak
by three spins without risking any money. So to
lose at a table with a £1000 maximum there
would have to be 11 blacks in a row which only
occurs very occasionally.
