Race Card

The race card is one of the most important things to know about if you want to be any good at picking winners. It contains loads of information which is useful to know. If you're are in the UK then the best information is contained in a newspaper called the Racing Post. You can get a copy at the newsagents for £1.40. If you don't want to fork out for it, you can go into any bookmakers and they will have pages from the paper stuck up against the wall. The equivalent publication in the US is called the Daily Racing Form.

It may seem a little daunting when you first see a race card as there is a lot of information on them, but they don't tell you want any of it means. Thankfully we've done the hard bit and there is an example below of a race card from a typical race which was published in the Racing Post. When you've learnt how to read a card properly the information you gather can be used in the future to help you pick winners.
