Place Bets

A place bet can be made at any time but the bet is inactive on the "come out roll" it only wins or loses after a point has been established. To make a place bet you have to ask the dealer to do it for you. They will put your chips in the numbered box below where it says "Place Bets".

Place Bets

You tell the dealer which number you would like to bet on and they will place it in the appropriate box. (Either 4,5,6,8,9, or 10). When making this bet you are betting that the number you have chosen is rolled before the number seven. If the number you have chosen is rolled before the number seven you win the bet. If the seven is rolled you lose.

The odds that you get paid if you win are different depending on which number you have chosen.

If you choose number 4 or 10 you are paid out at odds of 9/5. Make sure yo u bet an amount of chips divisible by 5 because if the payout is not a whole number they will round the pay out down. For example if you bet £5 your payout is £9 so there is not problem. But if you bet £4 the payout is £7.20, however the casino will round the payout down to £7 therefore taking 20p of yours.

If you choose number 5 or 9 you are paid out at odds of 7/5. As with 4 or 10 make sure you bet an amount divisible by 5 to get paid out the correct amount.

If you choose number 6 or 8 you get paid out at odds of 7/6. With this payout you have to make sure your bet is divisible by 6. If you bet £6 you will be paid out £7 but if you bet £5 you should receive £5.83 however the casino will only pay you £5.

You can add and remove place bets as and when you like during the game.

When betting place numbers it is possible to "buy the 4 or 10". The reason for this is that the casino advantage on this bet is 6.7%. When you buy the 4 or 10 you have to tell the dealer you want to buy the number. The dealer will then take 5% commission on the total bet amount. So if you bet £20 you have to give the dealer £1 commission. When you have done this the payout odds on this bet change from 9/5 to 2/1. By buying the number the casino advantage is reduced from the usual 6.7% to 4.8%. So this is always worth doing but players rarely do as they often don't know about it.
