To place a don't come bet place your chips on the betting layout where it says "Don't Come Bar". This bet can only be made after a point has been established.
Outcomes of a don't come bet initially after placing the bet.
1. If the shooter throws a 7 or 11 you have lost the bet and the dealer will take your chips.
2. If the shooter throws a 2,3 you have won the bet immediately and you will be paid out at evens.
3. If the shooter throw a 12 this is said to be a tie ("push") and your bet remains where it is.
4. If the shooter throws a 4,5,6,8,9 or 10 your bet is moved to the area just above the relevant place bet box depending on which number has been thrown.
Outcome of a don't come bet after a 4,5,6,8,9 or 10 has been thrown.
Lets say for example a 10 had been thrown after you had placed your bet in the "don't come box" and your bet had been shifted to the area just above the place bet box for the number 10.
1. If the shooter throws a 7 you have won the bet and you will be paid out at evens.
2. If the shooter throws a 10 you have lost the bet and the dealer will take your chips.
3. If the shooter throws a 2,3,4,5,6,8,9,11,12 you have neither won nor lost and your bet remains where it is.
As you can see the don't come bet is essentially the same as a don't pass bet it is just the timing of the bet that is different. You place it after a point has been established rather than on the "come out roll".
