Strategy 3

This strategy is still fairly simple but it utilises the free odds bets which are the best bets on the table. If you want to learn how to play craps well it is imperative you at least learn how this strategy works and use it at the table. Using this strategy with double free odds cuts the casinos advantage to 0.6%.

With this strategy you will bet the pass-line and then bet free odds in conjunction with your pass-line bet. All you do is place a pass-line bet and then if the shooter establishes a point you then place a free odds bet behind it and wait for the outcome.

To start betting you place a bet on the pass-line before the shooter has his "come out roll". If the shooter throws a 7 or 11 your bet instantly wins and you a paid out at evens. If the shooter throws a 2,3 or 12 you instantly lose. If, however the shooter throws a 4,5,6,8,9 or 10 a point has been established and you now make a free odds bet and wait for the outcome.

Here's an example scenario

The shooter has just changed and is about to throw their "come out roll". At the casino you are playing at they offer double free odds and you are betting £10 on the pass-line.

You place a £10 bet on the pass line.

Amount Bet=£10 Amount Received=£0

The shooter throws a 6

Your pass-line bet neither wins nor loses but a point has been established. You now place a double free odds bet (£20) behind your pass-line bet.

Amount Bet=£30 Amount Received=£0

The shooter throws a 4 so your pass-line bet and your free odds bet remains where it is.

Amount Bet=£30 Amount Received=£0

The shooter throws a 6 so your original pass-line bet wins and your double free odds bet wins also. Your pass-line bet is paid out at evens so you receive back £20 and your double free odds bet pays out at 6/5 so you receive £44 (£20 original bet and £24 winnings)

Amount Bet=£30 Amount Received=£64

You then place another pass-line bet for £10. The shooter now throws his "come out roll" and throws a 2. So your pass-line bet loses.

Amount Bet=£40 Amount Received =£64

You then place another pass-line bet. The shooter now has another "come out roll" and throws a 4. So you bet double free odds behind your pass-line bet.

Amount Bet=£60 Amount Received =£64

The shooter now throws a 7 so your pass-line bet loses and your double free odds bet loses so you end up winning £4 and you start again with another pass-line bet.

If you follow this strategy and the casino you are playing at offers double free odds the casinos advantage will only be 0.6% which isn't bad. You can use this strategy and bet on the don't pass line and then follow up the bet with free odds it's entirely up to you and the casino advantage will be the same.
