In casinos in the US there are number of different rules and procedures depending on where the game is played. This is the most common set of rules you will find in the average Las Vegas casino. This is a list of rules and procedures that are not necessarily used everywhere. Rules that rarely change will be described in the blackjack rules section.

1. A player may split their cards more than once.

2. The cards are drawn from a shoe containing 4 to 8 packs.

3. The dealer will start by dealing themselves two cards, one card face-up and one card face-down underneath the face-up card.

4. You are allowed to double down on any two cards.

5. The dealer must stand on both "hard" and "soft" 17.

6. Insurance is available.

7. You can not double down after splitting.

8. A player may re-split pairs.
