In casinos in the UK the rules are much more standardised than they are in the US and you won't find much variation. Here is a list of the most common rules and procedures. Rules that rarely change wherever you play will be described in the blackjack rules section.
1. A player can split any pair except fours, fives and tens.
2. The cards are drawn from a shoe containing 4 to 8 packs.
3. The dealer deals himself one card face up and only takes a second card when all players hands are finished.
4. You are only allowed to double down on 9,10 and 11.
5. The dealer must stand on both "hard" and "soft" 17
6. Insurance is available
7. Surrender is not available
8. You can not double down after splitting.
9. A player may re-split pairs.
