Blackjack Etiquette

1. When changing money for chips at the table, make sure you wait for the previous hand to finish.

2. When changing money, place it down on the table, do not hand it directly to the dealer and verbally tell them you would like to change it for chips.

3. When changing money tell the dealer what denomination of chips you would like.

4. Before you sit at a table make sure you know what the minimum bet is.

5. Familiarise yourself with the rules of the game before your first hand. So you don't have to constantly ask the dealer questions during the game.

6. Do not get openly annoyed with other peoples play. If you don't like it move to another table.

7. Do not give other players advice on how to play the game unless they specifically ask for it.

8. Always use hand signals to tell the dealer if you want to "hit" or "stand" do not say aloud what you want to do.

9. The only time you need to speak to the dealer during a game is if you want to surrender. In this instance say the word " surrender " out loud.

10. When doubling down do not look at the card dealt to you until the hand has finished.

11. When you have placed your bet on the table do not touch your chips again until the hand is over and the dealer has paid your winnings.

12. Do not use foul or abusive language at any time.

13. Do not ask the dealer to tell you what their hole card is or suggest the dealer cheats in any way.

14. If you are using a piece of paper to remember basic strategy, do not refer to it every single hand.

15. If you are playing blackjack from a shoe and the dealer lays your cards face-up on the table do not touch them at any time.

16. If the cards are not falling your way do not accuse the casino of cheating or ask for the decks of cards to be constantly changed. Move to another table.

17. Do not pester other players with too much chat. If they don't want to talk to you leave them alone to play the game
